C. Scott Hartz - Chief Executive Officer and Director

Mr. Hartz is recognized as a pioneer in leading transformational business solutions for Fortune 500 global enterprises. His career in management consulting and systems integration at Price Waterhouse and PricewaterhouseCoopers brings experience with managing an enterprise serving more than half of the companies in the Fortune 500 as well as numerous smaller business organizations and governmental units throughout the world.  From 1995 to 2002, while Global CEO of PwC Consulting, Hartz led the company’s growth to a $6.0 billion enterprise with a global leadership position serving multi-national companies in corporate transformation, e-business and e-markets, supply chain services, CRM, and enterprise resource planning.  He serves on the Boards of the Erie Insurance Group, Satmetrix, and Alien Technology.  Hartz also served on The Wharton School Graduate Board and Lehigh University Business School Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors of Siebel Systems until its acquisition by Oracle in 2006.

He holds a B.S. degree in Economics from Lehigh University and an MBA degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He resides in Pennsylvania.

Srinivas Kumar - Chief Technology Officer, Vice President and Founder

Mr. Kumar has over 23 years of Engineering and Management experience in computer networking and information security. Most recently, he was the founder of Taasware, which was acquired by TaaSera.  During his time at Taasware he was retained as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at SRI International in the field of trustworthy data centers. Prior to that, Mr. Kumar was the Solutions Architect in the Networking & Security business unit at VMware, where he was responsible for identity aware firewalls. He was previously the VP of Engineering and Principal Architect at Applied Identity, until it was acquired by Citrix.  Earlier in his career Mr. Kumar served in senior project and architect roles at Nortel, Lucent and TranSwitch.  Prior to joining TaaSera, he authored 9 patents in the user and application identity space and has since authored 6 issued patents with TaaSera, with 3 additional patents pending. He has led engineering efforts to certify products for Common Criteria, FIPS, US DoD and NATO MIL-STD standards. Mr. Kumar has a BE in Electrical Engineering from Bombay University, and an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clemson University.  He resides in California. 

Kurt F. Buseck - Chairman and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Buseck has 30 years of experience investing into and building private companies.  Beginning in 2003 he has led investor groups into seven technology based companies, from medical device manufacturers to engineering software companies.  He has been Chairman at most of these companies and has been responsible for financial strategy and oversight of corporate strategic development.  Mr. Buseck was the founder of Full Circle Investments, a private equity firm which actively acquired small to mid-size companies between 1993 and 1998.  The portfolio of 14 companies was repositioned, expanded and sold by 2003.  Mr. Buseck had previously been the managing director of the U.S. operations of Onex Corporation, the largest private equity firm based in Canada.  He received an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BA from Boston College.  He resides in Pennsylvania. 

David Brigati - Executive Vice President of Sales

David Brigati brings 25 years of expertise in selling IT security solutions to the Federal government and most recently oversaw Federal sales of Intel Security’s McAfee SIEM solution. Dave arrived at Intel Security (formerly McAfee) with the acquisition of NitroSecurity in November 2011 where he served as Vice President of Federal civilian sales and successfully established their NitroView SIEM as a market leader.

A graduate of University of Notre Dame, Brigati spent his early years as a regional sales executive at Cisco Systems in their National Federal Area helping Cisco become a “defacto standard” at the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Commerce, Energy, the VA and Agriculture.

Dave is based out of TaaSera’s office in McLean, VA.

Ivan H. Shefrin - Vice President, Security Solutions

Ivan Shefrin has over 25 years of experience in network, systems and security management. He was a co-founder and president of Network Performance Systems, Inc., where he led the company to an industry leadership position by capturing 50 percent of the market for IBM network routing design software. Previously, Shefrin co-founded venture capital-backed Response Networks, where he built partnerships with Cisco Systems and KPMG Consulting. After merging with Open Service in 2002 to provide IT security event management, the company operates today as LogMatrix.

Mr. Shefrin previously worked as an international trade negotiator for the U.S. Government, helping open foreign markets to U.S. telecommunications and networking companies. He began his career at IBM Corporation's Cambridge Scientific Research Center, and as an analyst for Knowledge Industry Publications in New York. Mr. Shefrin received a Master of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his baccalaureate from Tufts University.

Vinod Chathoth - Vice President, Engineering Services

Vinod Chathoth has over 25 years of experience in Product Engineering and Management roles in Networking, Security, Virtualization and Cloud technologies. Most recently, at VMware, he lead the Interoperability Engineering efforts for NSX, vCNS (vCloud Networking and Security) and vShield Suites of Network Virtualization and security products. Previously, he was the Senior Director of Quality Engineering & Professional Services at Applied Identity (acquired by Citrix) in the areas of Identity Aware Firewalls and Network Access Control. Prior to that, he served in various senior engineering roles at Vernier Networks, Cisco Systems and Tandem Computers.

Mr. Chathoth received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from University of Calicut (India) and resides in California.

Nitin Akarte - Vice President, International

Mr. Akarte spent the majority of his career at Cisco Systems, which he joined in 1996.  Prior to joining TaaSera, he was Director of Engineering – Security Access and Mobility Products at Cisco. He brings more than 19 years of experience in enterprise networking, security (Application & Network), and Mobility & Access (including BYOD, MDM/MAM, Secure Access, and Identity/Policy). He was previously Senior Software Manager at Cisco’s Security Management Product Group where he led engineering efforts to certify routers, switches and network management software.

Prior to joining Cisco he was Software Manager at Make Systems, where he led the engineering efforts for NetMaker, a network design system which is widely used to simulate, design, optimize and perform network disaster recovery.

Mr. Akarte resides in California.  He received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nevada, a Master of Science in Computer Engineer from the University of Nevada, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Amravati (India). 

Michael Burger - Vice President, Commercial Sales

Mr. Burger has over 25 years of proven, successful sales leadership.  He was previously Vice President Sales at Kony Solutions, where he oversaw increase in revenues from $10 million when he joined the company to over $100 million when he left Kony to join TaaSera.  He was previously at Sterling Commerce, overseeing sales growth of over 150% during his three-year tenure.

Mr. Burger has also been at Aprimo, Siebel Systems (where he was among the highest performing sales managers), McHugh Software and Computer Associates. 

Mr. Burger resides in Pennsylvania.  He received a B.A. from Point Park College. 

Marion Shields - Vice President, Public Sector Sales

Based in TaaSera's DC office, Marion is responsible for aggressively driving all sales activities at TaaSera including direct sales as well as new business development through partner channels. She has a track record of success in both large IT companies including EMC, and Sun Microsystems as well as small IT companies including Xiotech Corporation, Sequent Systems, and Sterling Commerce. She brings to TaaSera over 30 years of experience in sales, sales management, business development and business leadership in both the Commercial and Government sectors.

Most of Ms. Shields’ Federal sales career has been focused on the US Intelligence Community, where she has established and maintains strong relationships. Prior to joining TaaSera, Ms. Shields led a Special Programs team at EMC that set new sales records at a major IC Agency.

Ms. Shields received a BA in Mathematics from Trinity College.

Richard Stanton, Esq. - Vice President and General Counsel

Richard Stanton has over 25 years of law, business and government affairs experience gained from both private practice  and while serving in the federal executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. Mr. Stanton has served as Counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Independent Counsel; as Special Counsel to the Attorney General of Ohio; in the U.S. House of Representatives Office of General Counsel; and as Investigations Counsel on two Congressional Committees. He is a former partner at Nixon Peabody LLP and a Senior Policy Advisor at Dentons LLP both in Washington, D.C.  Rich served as Counsel and Director of Government Affairs to the Governor of Puerto Rico and as a Federal Court Law Clerk to Chief Judge Thomas D. Lambros in the Northern District of Ohio in Cleveland.  He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Boston College. Rich and his family reside in Potomac, Maryland.

Carl Anderson - Vice President, Finance

Mr. Anderson has over 30 years of experience in financial management and accounting and controls oversight.  He was most recently Director of Finance at Reed Manufacturing Company, where he restructured financial and management reporting systems.  He was previously Chief Financial Officer at Smith Packett, LLC, a real-estate development firm.  Additionally, he managed their private equity funds which had over $200 million in assets.  Mr. Anderson oversaw lending relationships with over $100 million in facilities.  He was previously Vice President of Finance at High Pressure Equipment Company, which grew during his tenure from under $2 million to over $20 million in revenue.  He has also been Controller at a $20 million construction company and Senior Accountant and Cost Accountant at several other enterprises.

Mr. Anderson resides in Pennsylvania and is a Certified Public Accountant.  He received an MBA from the Pennsylvania State University and BS in Accounting from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  He is an Adjunct Professor of Accounting in the graduate program at Mercyhurst University.
